# Generating a Page Is Not Designing a Product

Date: 2026-10-27

*Claude is not for you. It's a tool for developers, by developers.*

Twelve repositories. One recurring problem: generating a page is not the same as designing a product.

A coding agent can emit an interface from a sentence. Over the next four days, the subject is the work packed around that sentence: rules, design files, a shared place to review, components, motion, and checks. This series is about a developer-and-designer workflow. It is not a claim that Claude has no other uses, and these repositories are not exclusive to Claude. Several also install into Codex, Cursor, and other hosts. They do not all load the same way.

The collection shows how much engineering and design knowledge is being packaged around the agent so the output can be used.

1. **UI/UX Pro Max Skill.** A searchable rulebook of visual styles, palettes, type pairings, layout patterns, and stack-specific notes, plus a documented pre-delivery checklist that includes contrast, focus, reduced motion, and several viewport widths. Treat the result as a brief. It does not certify professional quality.

2. **Awesome DESIGN.md.** Design documents analyzed from public websites, so color, type, components, and spacing can live in a file instead of being retyped into every prompt. They are readings of public pages, not official systems endorsed by those brands. Read one to see how a visual system is specified. Adopting another company's identity is a brand and legal decision, not a setup step. An agent uses the file when you direct it to.

3. **Open Design.** A workspace, not a skill: prototypes, pages, decks, and other artifacts in one project, with a coding agent attached. Projects can run on your machine. Calls to cloud models, and to OpenDesign Cloud, still leave it. The README also says scrubbed safety and reliability telemetry stays on. What you are reviewing is a prototype.

Match the tool to the gap. A rulebook when the product has no visual system yet. A design file when the rules should survive the next prompt. A shared workspace when the failure is scattered chat output. These overlap. Installing all three does not create a design system.

Review starting point, not a release standard:

- Does it fit the user's task and the product's design system?
- Does it work across the required devices and browsers?
- Can people use it with a keyboard and reduced motion?
- Have you checked loading, empty, error, and long-content states?
- Have you reviewed performance, dependencies, and licensing?

A generated page still needs an owner for the rules it is allowed to follow.
